A mother raising five children has come forward with detailed allegations of long-term emotional, financial, and legal mistreatment by her former husband, Avi Stern. She says her decision to go public is driven by a need to protect her children, seek accountability, and bring truth into the open within their community.
The former couple was married for 18 years. Throughout that time, the mother claims Stern exercised ongoing coercive control, psychological manipulation, and intimidation. She alleges he repeatedly used their children as leverage, threatening to take them away or placing them in distressing situations, including forcing infants to endure long, predawn car trips.
According to her account, the home environment was frequently volatile. She states Stern would erupt into destructive episodes of anger, breaking property and creating chaos before leaving for hours, behavior she believes was intended to instill fear and maintain dominance over the family.
With support from a religious leader who she says witnessed this pattern of behavior, the mother ultimately chose to leave the marriage. She reports that rather than ending, the mistreatment intensified after the separation.
Claims of Financial Interference and Legal Abuse
Before moving out, the mother alleges Stern took steps that severely undermined her financial stability. She claims he took her jewelry and family heirlooms, emptied shared bank accounts, liquidated a trust, and initiated fraudulent chargebacks against her credit cards.
After filing for divorce, she says Stern immediately began presenting misleading narratives in court. Aware of her limited resources, she alleges he used the legal system as a weapon, attempting to portray her as unstable or unfit while she continued caring for their five children.

After several relatives passed away, she says Stern told others they were “cursed” and that the deaths were divine punishment. Moriah works at a daycare, despite the mother alleging troubling incidents, including physically assaulting her teenage son, speaking negatively about her in front of the children, and failing to provide adequate food when caring for them.
The mother believes this relationship has caused further emotional and physical harm to the children, and she says neither Stern nor Moriah has taken responsibility for their actions.

According to the mother, Stern continues to engage in behavior that undermines her and the children. She alleges he interferes with her ability to maintain stable employment, refuses to cooperate in co-parenting or school matters, pays only the court-mandated minimum child support of $800 for five children, and remains unavailable when important decisions must be made.
She describes the situation not as a contentious divorce, but as a continuing pattern of coercive control, financial abuse, stalking, defamation, and parental alienation that is deeply affecting her children’s mental and emotional health.
